IT PROJECT MANAGER – SOX COMPLIANCE

Location: REMOTE

Employment Type: 12 MONTHS CONTRACT (RENEWABLE)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead our team of SOX Compliance Consultants with expertise in IT Audit and IT Control. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in project management, and a deep understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of SOX compliance projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of SOX Compliance Consultants, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to facilitate the successful execution of SOX compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses to identify areas of non-compliance with SOX requirements, and define systems and key IT General Controls in scope for SOX 404 yearly.
  • Develop and implement IT control frameworks and testing methodologies to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular project status meetings, providing updates to key stakeholders and resolving any project-related issues or conflicts.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of IT SOX programs, while maintaining sufficient IT-based knowledge, awareness of emerging trends, and professional certifications to meet the requirements of the Audit Charter.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and assessments of team members, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for skills development and improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, standards, and best practices, including documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on SOX compliance or IT audit projects.
  • Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act regulations and requirements, with proven experience managing compliance initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Asana.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to closure.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Microsoft Office, SAP, Linux, Windows Servers, Active Directory, ASI and Mainframe.
  • Audit Management Software (e.g., Team Mate, ACL, etc.)
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Software (e.g., RSA Archer, MetricStream, etc.)
  • IT Audit Tools (e.g., IDEA, ACL, etc.)
  • Document Management Systems (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, etc.
